Important events of June 26

  • The first tooth brush was designed and made  in China in 1498. For the first time, the first model of a modern toothbrush was patented by a king of China.
  • Spain and the Netherlands were agreed and signed the Treaty of Trade and Peace in 1714.
  • Karl Benz of Germany obtained and get a US patent for a gas-powered auto in 1894.
  • The first Grand Prix was held in 1906. This competition lasted for 12 hours.
  • The Victoria and Albert Museum in London was opened in 1909.
  • The publication of the New York Daily News in America began in 1919.
  • Dialogue cinema started its life in 1927. Since the beginning of film production, it has been a constant effort to make such films which also have dialogues.
  • In San Francisco, 50 countries signed the United Nations Declaration in 1945.
  • Women got the right to vote for the first time in the Belgian parliamentary elections in 1949.

  • PLO leader Yasser Arafat returned to Gaza in 1994 after 27 years.
  • The World Science Conference started in Budapest (Hungary) in 1999.
  • Bangladesh was granted Test status in 2000 by the International Cricket Council.
  • Shujaat Hussain became the new caretaker prime minister in 2004 after the resignation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Jamali.
  • In 2008, the multinational company Riorito acquired a mining lease for diamaond mining under Chhatarpur district in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh. Announced the start of Diamond Project.
  • In 2013, 20 people were killed when a rescue helicopter crashed in Uttarakhand.
